House Resolution 529 (II)
11/17/2005
The Croatian Worldwide Association has received confirmation that the language regarding Croatian General Ante Gotovina was NOT removed from the resolution during the European Subcommittee hearing.
As a matter of fact, there are now 31 Members of Congress and counting listed as co-sponsors of this resolution.
We must continue to call, email and fax Members of Congress and demand they remove this language before it goes to a full Congressional vote probably next week.
Selling General Gotovina down the river for NATO membership is just dead wrong for Croatia's future. More importantly, by seeking to equalize guilt, the Gotovina indictment threatens the future stability of Croatia. By trying to convict General Gotovina for "command responsibility" over Operation Storm, the Hague indictment is calling into question the moral and legal legitimacy of the Croatian state within its current borders.
In short, the Gotovina indictment lays the groundwork for the resurgence of a Greater Serbia.
