Dear UN Security Council Members:
On April 25, 2006, Croatian Homeland Veterans began a 1,762 kilometer pilgrimage from Pakostane, Croatia to visit General Ante Gotovina. After 50 days of walking, the veterans arrived at The Hague today which is also the holy day of St. Anthony.
The veterans walked to The Hague to protest the false charges and indictment issued by the United Nations ICTY Court against Gen. Gotovina.
Upon their arrival at The Hague, they were denied a visit with Gen. Gotovina and were only allowed to speak to him via the telephone. Further, no explanation was given as to why the visit was denied. What these veterans accomplished is unprecedented in their support of Gen. Gotovina and why their visit was denied is just wrong.
The Croatian Worldwide Association maintains the Croatian Homeland War was just and defensive with its primary objective to protect the Croatian people against the aggressors and occupiers of Croatia's territory.
Why were the veterans denied a visit without explanation? What could possibly be the reason? Who is responsible for denying their visit?
As UN Security Council members, can you provide that explanation. We look forward to your response.
Warm regards,
Jackie Prkic
President
