Re: Articles “Roso: Ja nemam nikakve veze sa lažnim donatorima za generala Gotovinu" and "Bilaver je ljudima prijetio likvidacijom."

Dear Mr. Plese:

On June 27 and June 28, 2006, I read the articles: "Roso: I do not have any affiliation with lying donators for General Gotovina" and "Bilaver threatened to murder people" in Slobodna Dalmacija.

On behalf of myself and the Croatian Worldwide Association (CWA), I write to refute both articles and demand a printed retraction of my letter. Ret. General Roso is Honorary President of the Croatian Worldwide Association see: www.croatianworldwideassociation.com/site/epage/37516_571.htm.  In addition, the Croatian Worldwide Association did NOT raise any money in the name of Gen. Ante Gotovina at any time.

Defamation is harm to the reputation or character of someone which caused by the false statements. Character defamation in writing or print is called libel which impugns reputation and the character of another.  The entire article published by Slobodna Dalmacija is false and libelous on its face. It clearly exposes Slobodna Dalmacija to hatred, contempt, ridicule and obloquy because the articles are not true and clearly printed with malicious intent.

Under Croatia’s Constitution in particular to media laws, you must publish our letter of complaint in Slobodna Dalmacija.  In addition you must respond with both a public apology and retraction of both articles from Slobodna Dalmacija.  I await your comments detailing how you intend to resolve these issues and look forward to your retraction of these articles and forthcoming apology.

Awaiting your response,
Jackie Prkic
President
Croatian Worldwide Association
